First Broken Bone

It's amazing how some people can go their whole life without a broken bone. I have managed to live almost 28 years without a single broken bone. Our little Sadie made it two years, but no longer. Sadie broke her collar bone on July 1st. The biggest problem was that we didn't know. She fell out of her bed, as many children have done. We just thought she hurt her neck or bumped her shoulder, we wouldn't find out for 11 days that it was broken. We even went away on vacation in the meantime. As you may have seen in many of the pictures posted, she wasn't in pain! Now, we're waiting to see an ortho hoping that it is healing properly, I don't know what we're going to have to do if it isn't. Please keep Sadie in your prayers!

Lounging On The Beach

Check out our little beach babe! She was so engorssed in mommy's magazine. I thought this was the cutest picture from our vacation. Sitting in her chair, eating her crackers and trying to figure out who all the people were in the magazine. She was taking it easy for sure!

" I Go See Temple!"

Sadie has recently been learning about the temple. We talk about them at home, she points them out in all our Ensigns, and when Aaron and I went the other day, she was so sad she coudn't go with us. So while in the San D area, we decided to take her to see her first temple. Unfortunatly, the temple was closed, so we could only go in the one area up front, but she loved it! I think it was the highlight of the trip for all of us.

Sea World

Always lots of fun at Sea World! We went there one day while on our vacation. Sadie loved the dolphin and Shamu shows. It took awhile for what she was seeing to register. She would just sit emotionless through the entire show, but then a half hour later, it would all process and she would talk about it nonstop. They also had a pet show which she found really funny. Sadie loves animals, so this was like heaven for her. She wasn't too sure about some of the creepy fish, you know, the huge ugly ones. We also went to the carnival games, and mommy won a big Shamu for Sadie. In essence, it only cost $5 as opposed to buying one for about $20. SCORE! I love the pic of Sadie riding Shamu in our room. She started by just putting her bear on, then she decided she wanted to ride him too!

Picking Strawberries

So there is this great little place over by the outlets, where you can go to pick your own bucket of fresh strawberries. You pay a flat price for the bucket, and you can go anywhere in the designated fields and pick. We weren't as prepared as we could have been, we were in sandles. We ended up with a lot of old strawberries and mud in our shoes and on our feet. But the strawberries were so wonderful, better than anything you would get at the store or even a farmer's market. Oh yeah, and don't wear white!

"I take nap we go to beach, okaaay?"

Sadie LOVES the beach. That's all she would say leading up to our trip, "I take nap we go to beach, okaaay?". Then everyday when we woke up, the same thing. She was also obsessed with building sandcastles. She was a hard little worker, shoveling all that sand. Sadly, although it was plenty warm, there wasn't very much sun, so the water wasn't as warm as it normally is this time of year. We didn't get to play in the water that much. But Sadie loved being down there none the less.

Vacation!

We just got home from vaca on Sunday! YEAH! It's so nice to get away and have fun in our own little family bubble. We went to Carlsbad for 5 days. If you've never been there, you gotta go. It's such a nice beach and the village area is so nice and quaint. We love staying in the Carlsbad Inn, and they have everything you need for a perfect family vacation. We went on bike rides, spent time in the pool, spent time on the beach, went for walks around the village and on the beach.

We went down on the 4th of July. We went down to the beach to sit and watch the fireworks. They were scheduled to start at 9 so we went down half hour early. 10 minutes before the fireworks started, Sadie fell asleep, AND WOULD NOT WAKE UP! So, Sadie missed the fireworks. I guess there's always next year!

Clothes Horse.

Poor Sadie, her mother is a clothes horse living vicariously through her. As we were packing for vaca, I found that Sadie, had more than enough clothes to wear a different outfit everyday for more than three months. I know, I need help! Here's the rundown: 76 shirts, 14 skirts, 28 dresses, 15 shorts, 9 capris, 6 bathing suits, 11 pairs of shoes, 3 purses, 4 pairs of sunglasses. These are just her summer clothes.
As for the purses and sunglasses, Sadie could care less what I put on her from day to day, sometimes she'll request skirts, but other than that, she is obsessed with her accessories. She always has to wear a pair of sunglasses and have a little purse. She loves her dress up beads and tutu.
